- Daily equipment inspection and maintenance records.
- Operation logs include machine hours and fuel usage.
- Incident and maintenance reports submitted as required.

Duties and Responsibilities
Summary: The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery essential for earthmoving, material transport, and construction support within the mission area. The operator ensures equipment is used safely and efficiently to meet project objectives. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate UNOE heavy machinery including bulldozers, graders, excavators, rollers, backhoes, Front loader, dump trucks, low -bed trucks etc.
- Perform earthworks tasks such as excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, leveling and compacting.
- Support loading, transportation, and unloading construction materials.
- Conduct daily pre-operation inspections and report to transport workshop for maintenance.
- Maintain accurate operation logs including fuel consumption and equipment hours.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
- Assist in site clearance and debris removal including demolition of structures
- Support emergency operations and equipment relocation when required.
- Mentor junior operators under supervision.
- Coordinate with other stakeholders for machinery works
- Perform such other tasks as assigned by Chief Engineer
Qualifications/special skills
Valid licenses for relevant heavy machinery operation, valid for at least 12 months. Minimum 5 years of proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as Excavator, dozer, grader, compactor, front end loader, backhoe, dump trucks etc Familiarity with safe equipment handling and basic maintenance. Experience in field construction or humanitarian operations is preferred. Prior UNOE Equipment operation experience in the field is an advantage.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in spoken and written English is required.
