Due to a new funding opportunity, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks to recruit suitable candidates to implement a potential humanitarian response that is expected to focus on addressing urgent protection and multisector needs in areas classified as highseverity humanitarian contexts, where newly arrived and existing refugee populations continue to face significant protection risks. The planned intervention will prioritize rapid, lifesaving activities targeting vulnerable individuals and households and will be implemented across Kiryandongo, Palorinya, Palabek, and Adjumani refugee settlements. JOB SUMMARY The Finance Assistant will be a key member of the Lamwo and Palorinya team and will contribute towards the achievement of the fields finance objectives. Under the direction of the Senior Finance Officer, the Finance Assistant maintains the cash books and is responsible for the accounts payable functions of the department. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare cash transaction vouchers Manage mobile money account and ensure timely payments Preparation of invoice journals in Integra Reconcile mobile money accounts and cash accounts Supports the Manager to review travel and program advances Prepares payment journals as a PBR user Supports the manager to compile projections for the field office Ensure IRC policies and procedures are respected in all the cash transactions Ensure control and use of office stationery. Work closely with Administration to raise hotel bookings for visitors to the field. Assist the Admin officer to maintain timesheets for all staff. Manages vendor payments Develop and maintain efficient filling system for the field office. Any other duties as assigned by the manager Job Requirements: Education A Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce or Finance or a Diploma with 5 years experience Experience Minimum of 1 year working in the finance function. Experience working with NGOs (preferred but not a prerequisite); Skills and Abilities Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Knack for detail. Able to communicate effectively. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong Computer skills (MS Word, Excel,) Must be able to function comfortably in a loosely structured but complex work environment, working and prioritizing multiple tasks. Able to communicate effectively (written and verbal) in English with programme staff. Good supervisory skills, time management and interpersonal skills NB: This advert will close on 8th March 2026.
