Job Purpose/Objective The electrician reports directly to the construction manager, he/she will be expected to work within the construction department in collaboration with other sectors to achieve the objectives of the organization. The electrician, in close guidance of the Construction manager and the facility assistant will be expected to Install, test, maintain, and repair all electrical wires, electronics and fixtures associated with lighting, heating, cooling and electricity distribution systems in the hospital and residential facilities. Inspect electronics and electrical systems for compliance with local and national regulations. The electrician also is responsible for routine maintenance of solar systems within the field and managing the incentive electricians. Key Responsibilities
- Routinely inspecting electrical systems such as wiring, fixtures, and appliances, trouble shoot and address emerging issues.
- Identifying faults or hazards in the properties and addressing the issue to the line manager for immediate action
- Troubleshooting electrical system failures ensuring electricity power is always sustainable within the IRC premises.
- To have the ability to fix/replace electrical cabling and wiring with standard performance while adhering to safety and performance standards
- Confirm electrical goods received in the warehouse, making sure they are as per the requested specifications.
- Providing suggestions for electrical equipment, cabling replacement and chooses electrical materials based on budget, and the desired quality for safety and durability.
- Installing new electrical appliances in the building when necessary. This may include but not limited to ACs, fans fridges etc.
- Interprets drawings and bill of quantities specifications to map layouts for all electrical works.
- Receive and complete work orders.
- Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates.
- Report writing, documenting work progress and the renovation/installations outcome. Maintenance.
- Inspect buildings and facilities, to identify any issues.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
- Plan and schedule repairs.
- Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.
- Perform general maintenance tasks.
- Maintain the inventory records for equipment and maintenance supplies. Safety
- Follows health and safety standards and complies with building codes
- Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc.
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately. Promotes a safe and respectful environment for clients, colleagues and communities whilst promptly reporting any safeguarding concerns in accordance with IRC policies and procedures. Key Result Areas

- At least a Diploma in electrical engineering from a recognized technical institution.
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Basic computer Knowledge
- At least 3 years of experience in operation of solar systems and generators. Required Experience &Competencies:
- Previous experience working in similar position
- Experience in solar system maintenance
- Experience in troubleshooting and operation of generators.
- Ability to manage own time and that of others
