The Purpose of the Role The External Relations (ER) department includes private fundraising, marketing & communications and advocacy. ERs goal is to mobilize external audiences to raise funding to meet core organization needs deliver programs that support our clients to recover and gain control of their lives; influence policy changes to improve outcomes for our clients; and build and grow our global brand. The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team plays a vital role in supporting ER to advance our ambitious global strategy. The FP&A team (1) is a strategic finance partner to leadership and ER teams (2) leads finance modelling and budget development (3) provide insights and analysis to support decision making on funding decisions and critical initiatives. ERs FP&A team sits within the Business Operations and Analytics unit, the backbone of the ER department which provides best-in-class strategy, financial planning, analytics, and operational support. The FP&A Analyst will also be an integral part of IRCs broader Finance organization. The Financial Analyst, FP&A will primarily support the Marketing, Policy & Advocacy and High Value Fundraising (Corporates, Foundations, and Philanthropy) teams. The IRC is embarking on an ambitious new strategy which includes doubling its private revenue in the next eight years, in order to enable the IRC to reach 40M clients by 2033. The FP&A team will be a critical strategic driver of this work. The Analyst will be joining the team just as this work takes flight, creating fast opportunities for learning and exposure. The Analyst will assist with monthly reporting, updating financial models, maintaining data accuracy across systems, and generating insights that enable teams to understand fundraising performance, manage budgets, and identify risks and opportunities. This role is ideal for someone early in their finance career who brings strong analytical skills, is highly organized, and is eager to grow. It requires the ability to manage multiple tasks independently, collaborate effectively with non-financial colleagues, and deliver reliable, high-quality analysis. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for assigned teams. Assist in maintaining revenue and expense financial models for Enabling Team and High Value Fundraising portfolios. Maintain data quality across relevant systems (e.g. Salesforce, Integra, Power BI datasets). Maintain clear, accurate, and well-organized documentation of financial models, assumptions, analyses, and processes to ensure transparency, continuity, and auditability. Work closely with Marketing and High Value Fundraising teams to explain financial performance and help them understand budgets and forecasts. Respond to routine financial ad-hoc queries and provide data to support operational decision-making. Support Senior Analyst and FP&A leadership with preparation of materials for leadership presentations and business case development. Develop a working knowledge of systems used by the FP&A team (e.g. Power BI, Integra, PowerQuery, Salesforce). Support process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and reporting capability. Generate insights on performance, track progress and identify risks and opportunities to meet target Produce high-quality deliverables with oversight from Sr Analyst or Director (often spreadsheets, decks, memos, and analysis) with little re-work required Present analysis and recommendations to Director to facilitate decision-making and alignment Promote a positive, collaborative, and inclusive working environment PERSON SPECIFICATION Essential Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:**Bachelors degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, Business or similar. **Strong analytical skills, able to interpret data and produce clear analysis. Ability to explain financial information in a clear, accessible way to non-financial colleagues. Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills breakdown complex problems and work through solutions with team support. **Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g. formulas, pivot tables) and PowerPoint. Curiosity and willingness to learn financial systems such as Salesforce, Power BI, or ERP tools.Experience: Some experience in budgeting, financial analysis, accounting, or performance reporting (through work experience, internships, placement years, or similar).
