JOB OVERVIEW The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the IRC office in Dnipro, ensuring a safe, professional and welcoming environment for staff and visitors. The role covers routine daily cleaning, periodic deep cleaning, waste management, and monitoring and replenishing basic cleaning and hygiene supplies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Clean office premises daily (workstations, meeting rooms, corridors): vacuum, wet mop, dust and wipe surfaces. Disinfect high-touch areas (door handles, switches, handrails, shared equipment) according to the agreed schedule. Clean and sanitize restrooms; refill soap, paper towels and toilet paper as needed. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area; clean sinks, countertops and appliances, and ensure waste is removed. Empty trash bins, replace liners and dispose of waste according to building rules and IRC procedures. Perform periodic deep cleaning as assigned (glass/doors, windows where safe, furniture spot cleaning, storage areas). Keep cleaning equipment and storage areas clean, orderly and secure; ensure safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals. Monitor stock of cleaning and hygiene supplies and inform the Administration team in advance when replenishment is needed. Report any damages, maintenance issues, pests or safety hazards to the Administrative Officer immediately. Support set-up/clean-up for meetings or office events when requested. Follow IRC policies and procedures, including security, safety and safeguarding requirements, at all times. Concerning all staff interacting with colleagues and visitors: Professional conduct – Maintain courteous, respectful and non-discriminatory behavior towards staff, visitors and service providers; refer external inquiries to the Administration team. Confidentiality – Treat any information seen in the office as confidential and do not disclose it to external parties. Feedback and incident reporting – Promptly report hazards, incidents, complaints, or safeguarding concerns through the appropriate IRC channels. JOB REQUIREMENTS Education: Completed secondary education (or equivalent). Fluency in Ukrainian; basic English is an advantage.Experience: At least 1 year of experience in office or commercial cleaning (international organization experience is an advantage). Experience using standard cleaning equipment and products (vacuum cleaner, mop, disinfectants). Demonstrated Skills and Competencies: Attention to detail and commitment to hygiene and cleanliness. Time management and ability to organize work with minimal disruption to office operations. Knowledge of safe use, dilution and storage of cleaning chemicals; ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE). Reliability, discretion and integrity; respectful communication with colleagues and visitors. Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks (standing, bending, lifting and carrying up to 15 kg). REPORTING STRUCTURE AND TEAM COLLABORATION The Cleaner reports to the Administrative Officer (Dnipro) and works closely with the Dnipro Administration team, building management and service providers. The role coordinates cleaning schedules with office staff to ensure minimal disruption and supports meeting/event set-up and clean-up when needed. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION Full-time, on-site role based in the IRC office in Dnipro. Working schedule may include early morning and/or evening hours; occasional weekend work may be required for deep cleaning or office events. The role involves physical work and the use of cleaning agents; appropriate PPE will be provided and must be used. The Cleaner is expected to comply with IRC security, safety and safeguarding procedures and to immediately report hazards, incidents or concerns. No business travel is required. When necessary, the work may need to be carried out at a fast pace; attention to detail and responsibility are important. The administrative team coordinates the cleaning schedule with staff to minimize disruption to office operations. While performing duties, it is necessary to follow safety rules when handling equipment and cleaning chemicals.
