Find out more about us and our purpose. Your Opportunity Are you an experienced youth worker who thrives on building connections and opening doors for young people. Are you confident engaging with schools and professionals and motivated by making a real difference for young people who may not otherwise access support. We are seeking a passionate and proactive Youth Worker to establish and lead a new outreachfocused role supporting young people aged 1224 who are hidden carers. Hidden carers often remain invisible and unsupported while managing caring roles alongside school, work, and their own wellbeing. This position will focus on building strong networks and referral pathwaysparticularly with schools and youth servicesto increase identification and access to support for young carers. Working within the Integrated Carer Support Service, the role links young carers with tailored supports and services to help them manage daily challenges, reduce stress, maintain wellbeing. Your key responsibilities will be to: Proactively identify, engage and support young people aged 1224 in caring roles Build and maintain strong professional relationships with schools, education staff, youth services and community organisations to increase referrals of hidden young carers Provide shortterm practical support, information and guidance to young carers and their families Plan and deliver young carer camps, group activities and wellbeing programs Promote awareness of young carers and advocate for their needs across the community Maintain accurate case notes, data, and reporting in line with service requirements Work collaboratively within the Integrated Carer Support Service team to ensure coordinated, holistic support Requirements for Success Qualification in Youth Work, Community Services, Social Work, or a related field Demonstrated experience working as a Youth Worker, ideally with vulnerable or atrisk young people Proven ability to network, build partnerships, and manage professional relationships, particularly within school settings Strong understanding of early intervention, prevention, and strengthsbased practice Experience facilitating group programs and activities for young people Excellent communication, organisation and engagement skills Current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain Current NSW Drivers Licence Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
