Your Opportunity We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Activities Facilitator to support the Activities Facilitator in coordinating and delivering meaningful activities for tenants at Douglas House Supported Housing Accommodation. In this role, you will help tenants access and utilise the community woodworking shed, assisting with woodworking, furniture making and other practical activities. The aim is to support tenants personal, social, physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing, helping them build confidence and independence. Douglas House provides supported housing and individualised case management for up to 20 adults transitioning from chronic homelessness into longterm, independent living. Our approach is recoveryoriented, traumainformed, strengthsbased and culturally responsive. Your Key Responsibilities Will Include Coordinating and supporting tenant access to the community woodworking shed. Assisting in planning and delivering activities such as woodworking and furnituremaking. Supporting tenants overall wellbeing to help them build independence. Building rapport with tenants using a strengthsbased framework. Ensuring safety through adherence to relevant policies and procedures. Completing basic administrative tasks as required. Requirements for Success A relevant certificate qualification or equivalent experience in a related field. Strong administrative and communication skills. Experience supporting clients from diverse backgrounds and varying levels of disadvantage. Skills and experience in a woodwork environment preferable, with the ability to provide basic training to tenants. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team. Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
