This position will be based in Kebbi State. PATHs Center for Vaccine Innovation and Access (CVIA) brings together our expertise across every stage of the long and complex process of vaccine research, development, and delivery to make lifesaving vaccines widely available to children and communities across the world. CVIAs current portfolio encompasses more than two dozen vaccines either in development or already in use to protect against fifteen different diseases. Our focus is on vaccines to address the leading diseases that claim childrens lives worldwide: pneumonia, diarrheal disease, and malaria; as well as other global health priorities, such as polio and meningitis. We work in partnership with national health ministries, pharmaceutical manufacturers, donors, international financing and regulatory organizations, and many others. PATH has led numerous global partnerships, including the award-winning Meningitis Vaccine Project and the Malaria Vaccine Initiative, which helped develop the first malaria vaccine candidate recommended for pilot implementation. PATH is currently seeking a Kebbi State Program Manager who will coordinate all aspects of a multi-faceted project to improve routine immunization (RI) coverage in Kebbi State, Nigeria by deploying Mobile Immunization Teams (MIT) across 16 Local Government Areas (LGAs). This is a leadership role requiring extensive experience managing health service delivery projects in Nigeria. This position will be based in Kebbi state and will report to the PATH Global Project Leader, based in Kampala, Uganda, and coordinates with PATH leaders and Immunization Focal Points in PATHs Abuja and US offices. Responsibilities: Collaborate with Kebbi State health officials and LGA health facilities to determine the priorities and locations for MIT deployment, including support for and engagement in microplanning. Oversee the work of one or more partners funded by PATH to handle the administrative management of the MITs, to support community outreach and engagement, and to assist data monitoring and reporting. Maintain excellent relationships with local officials and other organizations working on health programs especially on immunization in Kebbi state. Ensure sufficient and quality training program for the MITs in collaboration with the local partner. Directly manage the Senior Field Officer, who will oversee the training program and the work of up to 16 Field Officers conducting supportive supervision of the MITs. Coordinate the work of the PATH Kebbi RI team, encompassing monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) and advocacy, communications, and social mobilization (ACSM) officers, to ensure seamless integration of the work on data collection and reporting and advocacy, communications, social mobilization, community engagement within MIT operations. Facilitate effective coordination of this project with other PATH projects operating in Kebbi. Monitor project workplans and deliverables, identify challenges, address problems, and revise workplans and methods as needed. Prepare and submit regular reports to PATH and the donor through the Project Leadership team; ensure accurate record keeping. Monitor vaccine and related supplies availability and work out approaches to ensure their availability Monitor and ensure adherence to budget against workplan Ensure accurate and complete updates to Project Leader, PATH systems, and funder as needed. Plan, coordinate, and execute key stakeholder meetings. Serve on the Project Leadership Team. Required Skills and Experience: Advanced degree in public health and 7+ years of related programmatic experience working in health service delivery; experience in immunization service delivery is strongly preferred. Exceptional project leadership skills and proven experience managing and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with national and state-level officials, diverse stakeholders, and partner organizations. Experience leading a team and providing supervision and mentorship; strong team-building ability. Team-focused with the ability to interact with diverse colleagues and facilitate strong working relationships between local and remote colleagues. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously. Professional proficiency in English verbal and written communications. Willingness to travel within Kebbi State as required by project activities.
