The Forum engages the foremost political, business, academic and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas. About the Team Engaging the public sector across the World Economic Forums scope of work is critical in shaping regional, global, and industry agendas, and to ensure that we are working in the global public interest. The Centre for Regions, Trade and Geopolitics is accountable for all regional engagement strategies and activities leveraging the Forums platforms, knowledge, initiatives, networks, and events. The Centre centralizes the engagement of the Worlds most relevant and impactful government and public sector leaders from the G20 economies and other relevant nations into and across the Forums value streams. It ensures the Forums approach is global while founded on comprehensive understandings of the regional and local contexts. The Forums Latin American team within the Centre for Regions, Trade and Geopolitics is responsible for overseeing all the Forums engagement with this region. This includes developing regionally-focused strategies and value propositions for Forums multi-stakeholder members and constituents, shaping and coordinating regional projects and communities, as well as organizing and delivering innovative meetings, project workshops, country high level dialogues, and other activities. The Latin America team identifies key government leaders, public figures, thought leaders, academics, scientists and innovators, representatives of the civil society, youth, women, social entrepreneurs and other relevant figures from Latin America to develop a regional community of leaders and engage them together with business leaders in projects and initiatives online and offline to address economic, political, environmental, social, and geopolitical issues at a global, regional and sectorial level. Reporting Lines and Interactions At the Forum, we believe that progress happens by bringing together people from all walks of life who have the drive and the influence to improve the state of the world by building awareness and co-operation, shaping mind-sets and agendas and driving collective action. How is the role embedded in the wider team and the Organization? The position reports to the Head of Latin America. Internally, this person will work with colleagues in the Latin America team in the Centre for Regions, Trade and Geopolitics and will collaborate across the house covering related interests, and externally with a broad range of stakeholders in Latin American Governments. The position within the Latin America team provides close support to the Head of Region in the overall development, implementation, and monitoring of the Forums Latin America engagement strategy across the assigned countries. Key Responsibilities Strategic and regional-level responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Latin America in shaping, delivering, and monitoring the Forums regional engagement strategy for Latin America and the assigned countries.
  • Conduct research on regional and country-specific topics and serve as advisor on government and public policy for Mexico, Argentina, and Central America.
  • Develop economic, political, and social country profiles and engagement strategies, for country-level engagement across the organization.
  • Provide strategic input on country priorities, policy trends, and stakeholder dynamics for internal alignment on programming, convenings, and initiatives. Country leadership and stakeholder engagement:
  • Act as the primary engagement lead for assigned countries, ensuring consistent, high-quality engagement across Forum platforms and activities.
  • Design and implement a structured approach to identifying, managing, and strengthening priority relationships with national and sub-national governments, regional institutions, partner companies, and other Forum constituencies.
  • Ensure that the Forums value proposition in assigned countries is compelling, relevant, and aligned with public – private needs.
  • Represent the region in Partner Advisory Group Meetings and other engagements to strengthen and expand the partner community. Convening, programmatic, and operational execution:
  • Contribute to high-level convenings around priority issues to advance dialogue and collaboration.
  • Translate convenings into concrete outcomes by supporting the design and implementation of publicprivate projects and initiatives.
  • Prepare economic and geopolitical briefings for internal use, as required.
  • Support the teams internal and external communication strategy. Preferred Requirements and Experience
  • Masters degree, preferably in economics, trade, political economy or international relations.
  • At least ten years of professional experience, including a minimum of three years working in Mexico in public policy, government affairs, multilateral engagement, or regional leadership. Additional experience in Latin America is highly desirable.
  • Understanding the functioning and structure of governments within the region; existing network of contacts within the Government of Mexico would be a strong plus.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish.
  • Strategic thinking with a drive and passion for collaboration and tactical execution.
  • Experience in framing, analysing and communicating complex economic and geopolitical issues to senior audiences.
