About the World Economic Forum The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation. The Forums Beijing Office is registered as an NGO in China and engages the foremost political, business, and societal leaders to shape global, regional, and industry agendas. As part of the Centre for Regions, Trade and Geopolitics (CRTG), the Beijing team manages the Forums engagement with government and public sector institutions in Greater China. Reporting Lines & Interactions This position is based in the World Economic Forums Beijing Representative Office and reports to the Head of Government Engagement of Greater China. Scope of Responsibilities The Specialist will dedicate approximately 30% of their time to administrative support for the team and 70% to supporting government engagement activities across the region. Key responsibilities include: Provide administrative support, including data entry, background research, and logistical coordination. Conduct policy research on central and local government developments. Support engagement with government departments at multiple levels for Forum initiatives, events, and meetings, including but not limited to the Annual Meeting in Davos and the Annual Meeting of the New Champions in China. Conduct stakeholder mapping to identify opportunities that align Chinese government priorities with Forum initiatives. Provide logistical support for Chinese officials attending Forum events and for Forum leadership visits to China. Draft briefing materials, talking points, and communications; ensure timely follow-up and delivery of key information to stakeholders. Support ad hoc tasks and projects from the global CRTG team, Beijing Office, and Geneva headquarters. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of professional experience in government, international organizations, think tanks, or consulting. Masters degree in public policy, international relations, economics, politics, or a related field. Strong knowledge of the structure and operations of the Chinese government. High level of integrity, authenticity, and clarity in communication; able to provide and receive direct feedback. Fast learner with strong multitasking ability; able to work effectively under pressure. Fluency in both English and Chinese (written and spoken), with proven professional experience in both languages. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Overseas study and/or professional experience with international organizations is an advantage.
