Employee Contract Type: Local – Fixed Term Employee (Fixed Term) Job Description: Job Purpose: The Mechanic Driver is responsible to deliver full range transport service (driving rig carrier heavy truck and carne mounted truck) for organization use to ensure safe, reliable fleet to help in work on customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance. He/She should properly handle and manage the condition of the vehicles and machines by maintaining the necessary periodic vehicle maintenance. He/She has to keeps good recodings on the history jackets of vehicles and equipments. He/She has to provide the required transport service for the field staffs, if necessary, as directed by the responsible person. Communicate World Vision’s Christian ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others. Promote major crosscutting themes including environment, gender, protection, disability, peace building and Christian commitment. Major Responsibilities Operate crane during loading and unloading operation; deliver full range transport service (driving rig carrier heavy truck during mobilizations and demobilizations) for organization use to ensure safe, reliable fleet to help in work on customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance. Observe and ensure prescribed work, safety rules and respond to service calls. Service, maintenance and repair of hydraulic and air compressor system of the truck including other heavy and light vehicles according to established preventive maintenance schedule. Rotate and change tires; change oil and filters; grease vehicle parts; inspect and replace bulbs, and top up all fluid levels Maintain accurate, updated records/ of preventive maintenance in adherence to FM policy Inspect vehicles regularly, evaluate condition of systems, equipment, accessories, and light and reports any mechanical problems of vehicle to supervisor for repair /parts replacement and keep vehicle accessories counted, logo intact, functional safety tools kits and equipment. Maintain buses, vans, cars and make work area clean, fuel vehicle and keep in a good condition at all times Maintain log books / daily mileage log book sheet / and fuel consumption records on a regular basis, take cautious measures on keeping original keys, tools, reserve tires/rims and communicate officially when needed. Consistently monitor vehicle performance, submit maintenance request or advice timely and follow-up accomplishments. Keeps continuous recordings on the history jackets of vehicles and equipments. Prepare monthly vehicle usage report and submit timely and provide administrative support to the unit and other divisions/departments as per required. Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification Must have minimum of 12th Grade Completion Certification or 10+3 TVET Diploma, and related like in auto electricity, auto-mechanics, general mechanics, woodwork, metalwork. 4rd grade driving license Required Professional Experience Must have relevant work experience and minimum of 4 years and above of related work skill in rig, compressor, light and heavy vehicles driving, service and maintenance capability. Other Requirements: Basic English spoken and writing and ability to understand rig truck/vehicle operation manuals. Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 90%.
