Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund (Everytown for Gun Safety) is the largest gun violence prevention organization in the country. Everytown for Gun Safetys Political Team is seeking to hire aRegional Political Engagement Managerto help build the strength and power of our grassroots volunteer network, Moms Demand Action. This role is critical to advancing Everytowns electoral strategy and our commitment to expand the number of volunteers who seek elected office.
The Regional Political Engagement Manager will focus on engaging and supporting gun safety candidates in their assigned region. The Manager will work with relevant departments (government affairs, field, communications, etc.) to execute activities to achieve the organizations regional political goals. The Manager will be expected to conduct research on Gun Sense Candidates, make recommendations for candidate endorsements and contributions, serve as a main point of contact and resource for candidates, and support activities through the organizations Demand a Seat campaign management training program.
Individuals in this role must be proactive, detail-oriented, self-starters, and demonstrate a willingness to adapt to changing needs and priorities. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of supporting political campaigns and managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.This role will be through the 2028 election cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on candidates who submit Gun Sense Candidate questionnaires, make assessments and recommendations about endorsements and contributions.
- Act as primary point of contact for regional candidates – researching, tracking, and educating candidates about the organizations political programming.
- Provide regular support and guidance to campaigns around messaging, campaign plans, and paid media.
- Represent political team on regional pods, providing updates on political priorities and strategies, soliciting feedback, and developing recommendations for endorsements and contributions.
- Work with grassroots volunteers, priority candidates, and electoral partners to build visibility and participation in the Gun Sense Candidate and Demand a Seat programs.
- Support campaign management training for candidates and volunteers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of experience managing political campaigns, including an in-depth understanding of campaign operations.
- Demonstrated experience providing individualized guidance and support to campaigns aimed at maximizing campaigns ability to win.
- Excellent interpersonal communications skills and ability to build relationships with candidates, external partners, and stakeholders.
- Detailed-oriented and ability to conduct and synthesize research in a timely manner to inform organizational decision-making.
- Experience developing and delivering training is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, drive and manage workload and ability to adapt to changing priorities in fast pace dynamic environment.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to carry out multiple projects concurrently and prioritize work effectively by making and meeting team goals.
- Excellent communication and time management skills, with attention to detail.
- Flexible work schedule when evening and weekend hours are required.
- Ability to travel on behalf of the organization.
- Willingness and ability to work in an open office and hybrid work environment.
- Basic proficiency in Google Suite and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university.
- Thisrole will be through the 2028 election cycleand will be based in the New York City or Washington, DC offices.
The annualized salary range for this position is $85,000-$95,000 per year. Everytown offers a generous benefits package including Medical, Dental and Vision benefits, PTO, 401K Match, Education Assistance and more.
