Job Summary

The IFRC is establishing a consultant roster for a two-year period (2025 – 2027) to support the Clinical Care and Public Health in Emergencies team. This call for applications aims to identify qualified professionals who can provide consultancy support in three key areas: overarching health files, clinical care in emergencies, and public health in emergencies. Successful applicants will be added to the roster and contacted with specific terms of reference as needs arise.

Areas of Expertise:

Consultancy support will be sought across a range of specializations. Applicants should have expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Clinical Care in Emergencies: Including Emergency Response Units, blood services, palliative care, prehospital care, NCDs, RMNCAH, triage, mass casualty management, and quality assurance.
  • Public Health in Emergencies: Including Public Health ERUs, trainings, management of the dead in outbreaks, community-based surveillance, infectious disease risk analysis, contact tracing, and anticipatory action.
  • Information Management & Epidemiology: Expertise in health information management, risk assessment, and epidemiological analysis for infectious disease outbreaks.
  • Training & Capacity Building: Supporting emergency health training initiatives to increase the pool of qualified surge delegates and health coordinators.

Management and Logistics:

  • Management: The consultant will be managed by the Lead, Clinical Care and Public Health in Emergencies, and will work closely with the Health and Care Department.
  • Location: Most work can be performed from the consultant's home location.
  • Travel: If travel is required, the location and duration will be mutually agreed upon for each specific assignment.
