Job Summary
The develoPPP program, commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implements development-relevant and commercially viable projects with the private sector in developing countries. The develoPPP Ventures funding window was created to directly support African start-ups. Selected African Small and Growing Businesses with business models that contribute to the SDGs receive financial and technical support to scale their operations and attract commercial investment.

Salary & Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:
- Support project managers in the selection, evaluation, and quality assurance of develoPPP Ventures candidates.
- Assist in the analysis of business plans and in-depth due diligence of ventures candidates in cooperation with experts and partners.
- Participate in, prepare, and follow up on meetings with start-ups, implementation partners, and experts.
- Support contract preparations with the start-ups and proactively handle internal process steps for contract conclusion.
- Conduct research on specific business models and sectors and contribute to processing results and experiences.
- Support strategic processes within the team.
Your Profile:
- Studying Economics, Business Engineering, IT, Natural Sciences with a business focus, or a similar field. You must be currently enrolled or have graduated no more than six months ago.
- Initial experience in the private sector in start-up promotion (e.g., Venture Capital) or business development with a focus on venture financing.
- Excellent command of German and English (written and spoken). French skills are an advantage.
- Strong interest in analyzing business models, evaluating pitch decks, and commercial due diligence.
- Service-oriented, strong communication skills, and ability to manage internal processes effectively.
- Proactive, transparent, and able to organize your work independently and efficiently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
