About City on a Hill

City on a Hill is a local apostolate serving young adults (age 21-39) in the Kansas City area. What began in 2006

as a diocesan ministry has grown into a thriving community that now reaches2,500+ young adultsannually, with more than600 actively engaged participants. Through dynamic events, leadership training, small groups, mission trips, media outreach, and community formation, City on a Hill has helpedyoung adults encounter Christandbuild authentic Catholic community.Our mission is to be thecommunity that inspires and forms the young adult generation to be saints.

Position Overview

TheOperations Managerensures City on a Hill runs smoothly day-to-day. This person overseesevents, systems, logistics, vendors, volunteers, and data, allowing the Director and apostolate leaders to focus on mission and relationships. If you enjoyorganizing details, building systems, and creating excellent experiences,this role will allow you to have a huge impact behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities

> Event Operations

  • Coordinate logistics for City on a Hill events
  • Secure venues and manage vendor relationships
  • Oversee event registration, communication, and guest experience
  • Train volunteers and support event teams
  • Maintain a high standard of radical hospitality

> Systems & Administration

  • Manage the organizations CRM/database
  • Track engagement data and event participation
  • Develop systems for communication, retention, and donor engagement
  • Create clear, repeatable processes for operations

> Team & Mission Support

  • Provide logistical support to apostolate teams and outreach events
  • Assist with donor events and supporter engagement
  • Support identification and development of new young adult leaders
  • Coordinate marketing needs with communications contractors

> Operations Management

  • Manage inventory and event supplies
  • Oversee technical contractors when needed
  • Handle scheduling and use of City on a Hill meeting space
  • Ensure smooth coordination across staff, volunteers, and vendors

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Bachelors degree inbusiness, marketing, event management, data, or related field
  • Experience inevent planning or nonprofit operations
  • Experience managingdatabases / CRM systems
  • Experience coordinatingvolunteers or teams
  • Demonstrated ability tomanage multiple projects and deliver results

Schedule

This position offersflexiblework hours, though23 evenings or weekend daysper month are typically required due to events.
