Position: Youth Coordinator
Location: Durres Area Program

JOB PURPOSE The purpose of this position is to contribute to the planning and implementation of youth-related interventions, in close collaboration with the Youth Project Technical Advisor and the Programme Manager. He/She will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of all necessary resources to successfully implement all youth activities in Durres and to coordinate the activities of the Youth Centre.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Children and Adolescents Project Implementation
Ensure that targeted Youth Clubs are functional and implementing activity plan as planned in the begging of the fiscal year.
Ensure that Durres Youth Center is functional and implementing activity plan as planned in the begging of the fiscal year.
Assist, motivate and advise Youth Club leaders in their process of leading Youth groups.
Monitor periodically Youth Club meetings and ensure that the proper methodology and topics are implemented correctly.
Facilitate and implement project activities according to the established log frame.
Identify and compile success story from project activities.
Establish good relations with project and community stakeholders.
Organize regularly reflection and learning events with Youth members and leaders.
Able to prioritize activities when under stress or excessive workloads.
Monitoring and Reporting
Document properly project progress according to necessary means of verification.
Assist administration in other task as needed.
Facilitate and document learning across all aspects of the project to inform planning and decision-making.
Outline good practices as well as common challenges.
Ensure wide dissemination and visibility of project achievements.
Other responsibilities
Serve as area program communication focal point for delivering consistently high quality stories according to timeline and schedules set by Communication Department
Attend weekly and other staff meetings
Assist in other tasks and assignments as needed
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
Required Professional Experience
Minimum 23 years of experience working with youth or in community-based programs.
Experience in coordinating projects, preferably in partnership with local institutions or civil society organizations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with local stakeholders (e.g., municipalities, schools, NGOs, businesses).
Excellent organizational and planning abilities, with attention to detail.
Ability to engage and motivate young people from diverse backgrounds.
Problem-solving mindset, flexibility, and initiative.
Skilled in event coordination, activity planning, and facilitation.
Skilled in preparation of communication materials (e.g., success stories, event summaries, visual content) to increase awareness and visibility of the youth centres work.
Understanding of youth development principles and child protection standards.
Valid drivers license ,ability and willingness to travel domestically to 50% of the time.
Required Education, Training, License, Registration, and Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Community Development, Youth Work, or a related field.
A Masters degree is an advantage.
Effective in written and oral communication; able to speak and write with a high standard of English.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications
Knowledge of the local context and existing youth-related structures and services.
Proficiency in written and spoken English and Albanian.
Good computer skills (Microsoft Office, email communication, online collaboration tools).
Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends, depending on youth activities.
