The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is the nation’s leading cancer advocacy organization. Together with our charitable partner, the American Cancer Society, we work in Congress, state legislatures and local jurisdictions to support evidence-based policy and legislative solutions designed to eliminate cancer as a major health problem.

We work in Congress, state legislatures and local jurisdictions to support evidence-based policy and legislative solutions designed to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. Based in Washington, DC with offices throughout the country, ACS CAN works to encourage elected officials and candidates to make cancer a top national priority. The Cancer Votes Intern will assist the ACS CAN Grassroots Campaigns Team in planning and executing ACS CANs voter education program known as Cancer Votes. Responsibilities:

Conduct federal candidate research and power analysis.

Assist in planning and execution of Cancer Votes activities and events, including voter registration.

Support nationwide Cancer Votes volunteers by responding to questions and needs.

Manage logistics and data reports Cancer Votes kit orders, report back forms, media tracking, etc.

Create resources and templates as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Must be available for entirety of 8-week program: June 1st July 24th, 2026, at 37.5 hours per week.

Full-time student, if you are an undergraduate student, you have completed your freshman year of college.

Have a minimum of a B average (cumulative 3.0 on 4.0 scale).

Plan to continue your education in the following term/semester.

The hourly rate is $17.50/hour. The final candidate’s relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
