Qualifications
- Academic Qualifications: An advanced university degree (masters or equivalent) in gender studies, sustainable transport, digitalization, urban planning, or related fields.
- Academic Qualifications: A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. 2.
- Academic Qualifications: At least 5 years of experience working on sustainable transport, electric mobility, and/or gender required; 3.
- Academic Qualifications: Proven expertise in sustainable transport projects within Latin America and the Caribbean is required; 4.
- Academic Qualifications: Solid understanding of electric mobility technologies, trends, and policy frameworks is required.; 5.
- Academic Qualifications: Prior experience working in an international organization or government agency is desirable. 8.
- Academic Qualifications: Strong knowledge of gender mainstreaming in development and transport contexts is desirable. 9.
- Academic Qualifications: Familiarity with national and international development frameworks, including experience with donor-funded projects is desirable..

- Its mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action.
- The overall objective of the Industry and Economy Division of UNEP is to encourage decision makers in government, local authorities, and industry to develop and adopt policies, strategies, practices, and technologies that promote sustainable patterns of consumption and production, make efficient use of natural resources, ensure safe management of chemicals, and contribute to making trade and environment policies mutually supportive.
- It promotes the development, use and transfer of policies, technologies, economic instruments, managerial practices, and other tools that assist in environmentally sound decision making and the building of corresponding activities.
- The SMU seeks to engage a sustainable mobility and gender consultant for eight months to provide broader regional support and contribute to strengthening SMUs capacity in the region.
- The consultant will support regional efforts to accelerate the transition to zero-emission vehicles, with a focus on e-mobility, battery and end-of-life vehicle management, and policy upscaling.
- The consultant will also contribute to the management project of the ACCESS project, which operates in six countries in the region to enhance the digitalization of urban transport services.
- The consultant will also support country activities, outreach efforts, and the coordination of regional events aimed at advancing a gender-transformative and just transition to e-mobility.
- In close consultation with the LAC SMU Focal Point and the Gender Focal Point of UNEPs SMU, the consultant will be responsible for the following activities 1.
- Lead the implementation of a replication project for BMZ in one country in Latin America on Electric Mobility and Gender.
- Oversee planning, coordination with national and local stakeholders, and reporting in line with BMZ and UNEP requirements. 2.
- Develop and deliver a six-part Webinar Series on South-South Learning to highlight insights, lessons, and replication opportunities emerging from BMZ project pilots in close coordination with the Gender SMU focal point. 3.
- Support the organization of a regional thematic accelerator, based on the Industry and Investor Handbook for E-Mobility and Gender, in collaboration with GIZ and a local partner. 4.
