Job Summary
This consultancy provides an opportunity to contribute specialized expertise to United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)’s mission in environmental protection, climate action, and sustainable development. Working in France, you will apply your professional skills to address complex challenges in environmental protection, climate action, and sustainable development and support the organization’s programmatic objectives. This role offers the flexibility of consultancy work while contributing to meaningful international development outcomes with global impact.

Qualifications
- Academic Qualifications: A Masters Degree or equivalent, in environmental engineering, finance, economics, development studies, business, management, administration or another relevant field is required.
- Academic Qualifications: A minimum of Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience with bachelors degree, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience required with masters degree in development project implementation, working with national public institutions, private sector (including financial sector), academia or similar.
- Academic Qualifications: Demonstrated experience advising Fiji public organisations on climate change mitigation and adaptation and in-depth understanding of mitigation and adaptation priorities in Fiji
- Academic Qualifications: Expert understanding of how climate change affects Fiji and its economy gained either through publications on the subject, consultancies, or consultancies.
- Academic Qualifications: Significant experience in climate finance, overview of climate finance landscape and its actors in Fiji Desirable:
- Academic Qualifications: Experience in organizing workshops and/or similar events is an asset.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required

- UNEP-CCC is actively involved in the implementation of the UN Environment Climate Change Strategy and Energy Programme.
- The UNEP team will support the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in Fiji in the development of Fiji’s second Climate Finance Snapshot.
- The objective is to produce a climate finance snapshot that reflects the public and private climate investments and expenditures in the previous years.
- Under the direct supervision of the UNEP Project Manager, the Local Consultant will facilitate and coordinate the implementation of project activities in Fiji during the course of project implementation (9 months), such as coordination of project activities on the ground, stakeholder consultation data and information gathering and workshop planning and implementation.

- Output 2: Stakeholder Engagement Plan Report 2.0 Stakeholder mapping exercise and stakeholder engagement plan produced. 2.1 Develop a workplan. 2.2 Finalise Snapshot Template. 2.3 Presentation to Climate Change Department (CCD) and Ministry Finance for validation of 1.1-2.2.

- 4 Conduct a validation workshop and refine the Climate Finance Snapshot accordingly.
- Finalise the content of the Climate Finance Snapshot and present to CCD and Min Finance.
- Produce a graphicly designed publishable version of the Climate Finance Snapshot.
- Present the final product to stakeholders. Output 4: Learnings and Recommendations Report
