Qualifications

  • Academic Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Management, Social Sciences, Environmental Management, or related fields is required.
  • Academic Qualifications: Additional studies or training in communication, information management, or project knowledge management are desirable. PROFESSIONAL:
  • Academic Qualifications: Five (5) years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in the field of business management with administrative, operational or project support roles is required.
  • Academic Qualifications: Experience with computer databases and information systems.is desired.
  • Academic Qualifications: Experience working with international cooperation agencies and projects is an asset, as is prior experience within the UN system or other international development organizations.
  • Fluency in English is required for this position.
  • Language: Working knowledge of Spanish is desirable. SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Language: Excellent oral and written skills.

  • In this context, UNEP is seeking to engage a suitable candidate for the post of Project Assistant to support the administrative and information requirements of the project.
  • The Project Assistant will support the implementation of the project by providing administrative, logistical, communication, and knowledge-management assistance to the Regional Project Coordinator at the Latin America and the Caribbean Office.
  • The consultant will contribute to day-to-day project operations, meeting and event coordination, partner liaison, and the preparation and dissemination of project information and outreach materials.
  • The consultant will be based at the UNEP SRO in Kingston, Jamaica, working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, on a full-time and exclusive dedication.
  • The Project Assistant will perform the following tasks: 1.
  • Provide administrative support for project implementation and closure, including preparing correspondence, organizing documentation, and maintaining project files and databases such as annual operational plans, project fact sheets, interim/annual reports and other documents. 2.
  • Support the preparation and formatting of materials such as PowerPoint presentations, briefing notes, and summary reports for project meetings, workshops, and trainings, based on inputs provided by the technical team. 3.
  • Facilitate project communicationsemails, calls and general inquiriesensuring timely follow-up and coordination with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders. 4.
  • Support the organization of meetings, workshops, trainings and field missions, including agendas, invitations, participant follow-up, preparation of materials, and on-site logistical assistance in coordination with the administrative areas and the Latin America & the Caribbean Office (LACO) for the successful develop of meetings and workshops. 5.
