TheWOMENS BAR FOUNDATION (WBF) INTAKE COORDINATORis a part-time position that will require 29 hours per week, spread over a minimum of three days/week. WBF recruits, trains, and mentors pro bono attorneys to represent low-income survivors of domestic abuse in restraining order and family law cases, and elders in need of important estate planning documents. The Intake Coordinatoris responsible for assisting the legal team in the intake and screening process for the clients of the Family Law Project (FLP), Elder Law Project (ELP), and Womens Prison and Reentry Project (WPRP). The Intake Coordinator is also responsible for managing requests for assistance from prospective clients and referrals from community partners; conducting intakes and assisting with the evaluation of clients appropriateness for the programs; providing clients with referrals to social service providers; and managing statistical data for grant and other funding opportunities.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a high volume of calls to the intake lines.
  • Manage submissions of on-line intakes
  • Triage requests for representation
  • Conduct client interviews with individuals who are in crisis
  • Attend community outreach events as needed
  • Utilize and further develop the WBFs network of organizations to which clients with social service needs can be referred.
  • Provide service with a holistic and empowering intent
  • Assist with WBF trainings and special events.
  • Work on administrative tasks related to thepro bonoprograms.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience in the provision of social services.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with survivors of domestic abuse.
  • Demonstrated commitment to serving low-income clients.
  • Excellent communication skills and computer literacy.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Interest in working with incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently, and be a strong team member.
  • Ability to set appropriate boundaries and limitations with clients.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Proficiency in a second language is strongly preferred. At least one years experience working with an underserved population.

SALARY: $20.00-21.00 per hour

  • Salary will be commensurate with experience. The positions benefits package includes paid vacation, sick, and personal time, as well as paid holidays.
