This consultancy provides an opportunity to contribute specialized expertise to Economic Commission for Africa’s mission in international cooperation and sustainable development. Qualifications
- Academic Qualifications: Bachlors degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences is required.
- Academic Qualifications: Six years of progressive responsible experience in a clincal laboratory The work at the clinic requires the use of an electronic medical record system (earthmed).
- Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
- Language: For this role, fluency in both oral and written English is required.
- Language: Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage..
Skills
- Perform technical laboratory functions including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, stool exam and immunology, parasitology and COVID Test
- Report test results following clinic protocols alerting providers and/or nurses about abnormal results.
- Ensure to apply international standards in collecting specimens
- Ensure appropriate sampling and maintain accurate record keeping of results and materials.
- Maintain (preventive) laboratory equipment and supplies
- Set up, maintain, calibrate, clean, and test functionality of medical laboratory equipment
- Comply with all laboratory policies and OSHA regulations related to safety, cleanliness and infection control
- Check all consumable reagents and sample collection materials and order timely
- Ensure following of SOPs, Job Aids and Policies of each test
- Perform all other duties as assigned
