Qualifications

  • Academic Qualifications: A minimum of first degree in general medicine and specialty in Internal Medi-cine and Subspeciality in the field of Cardiology A minimum of 5 years work experience in the field of Cardiology.
  • Academic Qualifications: The work at the clinic requires the use of an electronic medical record system.
  • Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
  • Language: For this role, fluency in both oral and written English is required.
  • Language: Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage..

Skills

  • Provide consultation services to UNHCC Clients in the field of Cariology during working days.
  • Provide emergency consultation in off duty hours if the need arises
  • Carry out with empathy and care Cardiology consultations within the assigned period to the Specialist.
  • Perform Echo cardiography, Holter and BP monitoring and other cardiology Investigations as needed
  • Once the diagnosis has been obtained, assist patient to get the appropriate treatment. This may involve discussion with the pharmacist to ensure the medication is available either from UNHCC pharmacy or other pharmacies in the city. Possibilities to get UNHCC place a special order should be discussed with the pharmacist and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
  • Inform the CMO/Deputy or head nurse of cases referred to other medical facilities in the city for proper follow up.
  • Write detail medical reports for the purpose of referral to other services in the city, obtaining medical approval from the different UN Medical Directors.
  • Conduct Routine Screening and Check-ups related to Cardiology
  • Participate in writing newsletters in the consultants specialty for the purpose of educating the public.
  • Demonstrate team spirit and be punctual at all times, including informing UNHCC administration at least 3 weeks in advance on any changes to the individual timetable.
