This consultancy provides an opportunity to contribute specialized expertise to Office for Disarmament Affairs’s mission in international cooperation and sustainable development. Qualifications

  • Academic Qualifications: Timely delivery of outputs to agreed quality standards.
  • Academic Qualifications: Coverage and accuracy of the youth database/mapping.
  • Academic Qualifications: Increased youth visibility and participation at global/regional/national/local levels.
  • Academic Qualifications: Effective coordination with UNODA, partners, and youth networks.
  • Academic Qualifications: Systematic AGD (Age, Gender, Diversity) integration and documentation.
  • Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required for this consultancy.
  • Language: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an asset.
  • Language: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat..

Skills

  • Coordinate UNRCPDs youth outreach and engagement initiatives across AsiaPacific.
  • Develop training materials and deliver capacity-building activities with UNODA focal points.
  • Plan and manage virtual events, including speaker coordination, logistics and follow-up.
  • Create and maintain a regional database of youth and youth organizations working on disarmament.
  • Support dissemination of youth-related announcements and opportunities. B. WMD Programme Coordination
  • Prepare analytical briefs and background papers on nuclear, chemical and biological disarmament and non-proliferation issues.
  • Support the organization of meetings and workshops, including drafting of key documents.
  • Draft mission reports, talking points and communication materials.
  • Maintain programme databases and support monitoring and evaluation.
  • Liaise with Member States, regional bodies and experts for inputs and reporting. C. Research, Reporting & Communications
  • Draft briefing materials, background notes and inputs for reports.
  • Lead an internal scoping/mapping document on youth initiatives in the region.
