Role Summary
Mosaic YouthTheatre seeks to engage an Applebaum internfor the summerof 2026 forthe purpose of expanding the administrative, leadership experience and knowledge for a newyoung leader while supporting our mission.
Eachday, our internwill engage withour administrative teamto help ensurethe smooth execution of program reporting, data upkeep, and feedback gathering. Experience will be gained in areas including but not limitedto; various softwareprograms, data building and maintenance, program management, fund development and leadership. The intern willalso choose a project to complete within their time at Mosaicthat will furthertheir understanding of an area they enjoy.
Eligibility
- Eligible participants are undergraduate/college students currently enrolled in schools in Michigan and are basedin Southeast Michiganover the summer.
- We encourage students to be in their sophomore year or higher (equivalent). If a student resides outside of Southeast Michigan or has graduated before the start of the program, they are not eligible to participate. (Example of a candidate who would not be eligible: An applicant attends Wayne State University, but is graduating in April 2026)
- We strongly encourage students from metro Detroit schools, as this focus supports our commitment to cultivating a robustlocal talent pipelineand fostering long-term community engagement.
Objectives:
- 4hours a week of data management trainingwith hands-on experience
- Guided by Mosaics ProgramsCoordinator
- 8 hoursa week of leadership training in team management, communications management, and project building/coordination
- Guided by Mosaics DeputyDirector through shadowing, guided exercise, andproject management software introductions
- 4hours a week of programshadowing
- Guided by Mosaics Artistic Associate through observation and reflection on youth development and the Mosaic Model to gain understanding of youth development through the arts
- 4hours a week in grants management training
- Guided by Mosaics Development Coordinator and DeputyDirector
- 5 hoursa week shadowing various positions withinthe organization and working on their own project(s)
Essential Responsibilities & Functions:
- Gain a well-rounded understanding of the administrative and programmatic needsof a Creative Youth Development program.
- Learn practical skills for futurecareer growth, including a spectrum of programmatic, fund development, administrative and leadership skills
- Complete impactful project(s), gaining experience that will informtheir real-world understanding for future employment
- Complete tasksgiven by supervisor and team membersto support the programmatic and artistic mission of Mosaic

Physical demands/ Work Environment:
- Regularly required to use hands to handle or feel and talk and hear.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands, turn, sit, bend, go up and down stairs.
- Workin areas that may use bright or strobe lightsand in dark spaces.
- Somesitting and workingat a computer.
- Some travelmay be required as a part of program delivery, oversight and evaluation, training, and meeting participation.
- Someadditional evening and weekend hoursare required.
- Someheavy lifting and moving of supplies.
- While performing the duties of this job,team members mayoccasionally be exposedto outside weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment varies.
