Qualifications

  • Academic Qualifications: Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, public administration, finance, or related field.
  • Academic Qualifications: A relevant combination of a first level academic qualification and extensive experience in accounting, budget or finance may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree..
  • Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
  • Language: For this job opening, English is required.

  • Independently responsible for overall planning, management and supervision of the Finance and Budget Section with complex operations and issues.
  • Acts as the principal advisor to senior leadership on questions related to financial resourcing and stewardship, and organizational performance in line with mission priorities.
  • Leads the Finance and Budget Section guiding and coordinating the efforts towards the achievement of programme’s objectives.
  • Act as representative of the Organization within the designated area of responsibilities, when required discuss the financial component of cooperative agreements and coordinate financial transactions, when required.
