Qualifications
- Academic Qualifications: Advanced university degree, master or equivalent, in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken) is essential..
Skills
- The CCAC is the only international initiative working on integrated climate and clean air solutions to reduce the rate of near-term warming.
- It focuses on fast action to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) including methane, black carbon, HFCs and tropospheric ozone.
- More information on the CCAC is available at: www.ccacoalition.org Brazil joined the Climate and Clean Air Coalition in 2023 and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MMA) submitted a request for support in developing a National Action Plan to Reduce Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (Project BR-23-001).
- The Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) was selected as the implementing partner to provide this support, which was launched in December 2024.
- The project aims to develop a National Short-Lived Climate Pollutant Action Plan for Brazil that identifies a clear set of actions that can be taken to reduce SLCPs, outlines how these actions can be implemented, including a sub-national scale, and how SLCPs can be tracked over time.
- As part of this process, the project also expects to support the development of a communication strategy for the SLCP National Plan.
- Furthermore, it expects to support communication activities to disseminate information about the SLCP National Plan development, increasing awareness on the integrated climate and clean air agenda and SLCP, and strengthening stakeholder engagement.
- The project is seeking to recruit a Communications Specialist who can effectively support communication activities for Brazil’s National SLCP Plan.
- It will be included in each stage of the SLCP Plan development and will outline how the plan can be communicated broadly across Brazil, what key messages need to be extracted from the plan, who is most useful to communicate to, and how communication of the plan can support its implementation.
- Similarly, as part of the Strategy for the SCLP plan dissemination, the consultant will also prepare and disseminate messages and information concerning the theme of climate and clean air integrated agenda and SLCP reduction solutions and benefits, making sure they are translated to different audiences.
- The consultant will identify the key stakeholders to whom the Plan needs to be communicated and the channels and platforms through which the Plan will be communicated.
