Job Description:
Accounts Payable Officer
Location: Tbilisi
Duration: 5 months, including September, 2026, with a possible extension subject to the availability of funding
Time frame : 32 hours per week, Monday- Friday
Purpose of the position:
To ensure accurate , timely , and compliant accounting operations and local (government) reporting in line with local legislation, WVI, and donor requirements, while contributing to effective financial controls, liquidity management, and achievement of Finance KPIs.
Major Responsibilities:
Support the accounting team lead in Local (Government) Reporting
Ensure Compliance with Local legislation , WVI and donor requirements ;
Ensure accurate and timely provision of data for submission of tax , and other mandatory reports required by local governmental bodies .
Ensure daily accounting entries are accurate for timely submission of tax and other mandatory reports required by local governmental bodies .
Accounting, Compliance and Monitoring
Ensure review of the source documents / payment packages before processing the payments to ensure alignment with local legislation and WVI and donor regulations ;
Ensure accurate and timely financial data into the standard registers as required , Review balance sheet and timely process any needed corrections & adjusting entries . Accurately process monthly allocation rent , utilities , internet other shared costs
Ensure all bank accounts balances are reconciled Timely and accurately submit documents to shared services .
Set a plan for the payments to ensure timely settlement .
Timely Follow up to shared services requests .
Ensure payments are processed within 3 working days after complete supporting documents submitted to the Accounting.

Ensure all submitted EERs are reviewed timely and there are no outstanding advances to the staff ;
Assist Accounting team Lead in audit preparation to provide required information ;
Assist the Reporting and Analysis team with monthly reconciliations as required ;
Assist ATL and GFM with monthly reconciliations as required .
Conduct Year end allocations and reconciliations
Process accurate filing
Assist ATL GFM and FM with allocations , Reconciliations , balance sheet clearing , Fuel and maintenance allocation , Clearing of accounts ; SA/PA submissions .
Perform other relevant tasks within his / her competency assigned by a Manager.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting position with medium business / medium NGO/ government agency
Practical Knowledge of financial systems , budget / cash flow monitoring and internal accounting controls ;
Sound knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial processes ;
Strong computer proficiency , including practical experience with excel processing , spreadsheets , databases , and financial management systems ;
Experience with humanitarian aid in-country is a plus .
Required Skills:
Good analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy ;
Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines ;
High level of responsibility , integrity , and accountability ;
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team , as well as independently with minimal supervision ;
Comfortable handling routine accounting tasks and maintaining consistency in daily financial operations .
Language requirements:
Proficiency in written and spoken English and local language ;
The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 5 % of the time .
