Job Description:
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Organize community groups and build their capacity to enable them take part in targeting, conducting assessments, surveys and preparation of plans
Facilitate the formation of community groups (project management committee and food management committee) in each target village, which will be the vehicle through which WV will work in its support to the communities.
Ensure community groups have clear terms of reference, and are gender balanced.
Conduct household surveys with the support of community groups to gather necessary household data.
Support community groups to conduct surveys and assessments to identify community needs.
Ensure all communities and community groups understand regulations for inclusion of nutrition programme.
Ensure community groups have relevant systems and forms for implementing and tracking the implementation of nutrition projects.
Support community groups in mobilizing their community members and in ensuring that requirements for participation in projects.
Build Capacity of community members with different trainings and different awareness session
Support community groups in identifying suitable training that meet the interests and needs of communities.
Identify suitable resource persons who can be used for conducting training to community members.
Develop training plans with resource persons for the implementation of training.
Leading the PGAAP SBCC sessions in the target communities and accessing the improvement of participants.
Monitoring of activity implementation and quality and timely reporting
Develop monitoring plan that allows measurement of learning together with M&E Facilitator and Project Manager.
Regular monitoring visits to villages to track the progress of community asset creation projects and supplementary food distribution to targeted beneficiaries.
Ensure there is an effective monitoring system for monitoring attendance.
Ensure that all necessary materials are available for projects.
Ensure all necessary documentation is passed to food/cash distribution and monitoring team for distribution of food/cash.
Ensure that donor regulations are followed in all types of food programming initiative.
Submit monthly reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
Maintain good networking and partnership with all stakeholders
Liaise with local authorities to gain support for projects, and to arrange technical assistance as necessary.
Ensure monitoring forms that document involvement and time by community members are understood and utilized by community group members.
Ensure monitoring standards are met through regular monitoring visit to project area.
Establish positive working relationships with local authorities to ensure support for programme aims.
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
At least 2-year experience in similar role in food and cash project
Experience in working closely with Food/Cash professionals is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
Good knowledge in food programming.
Strong interpersonal skills and able to work with a variety of stakeholders including staff, community members, donors and local authorities
Proven project facilitation skill
Good time management and organizing skill
Demonstrate collaboration skills
Good knowledge in Microsoft Office computer programs including Word, Excel and Power Point
Some level of travel is expected. Frequent visit to project areas
Good command in English and report writing
