Women’s Learning Partnership (WLP) is a non-profit partnership of 15 autonomous organizations based in the Global South that trains and supports women leaders and advocates for a just, peaceful world. WLP creates contextually-specific curricula and training programs on leadership, human rights, and democratic participation. The Partnership conducts research-based advocacy campaigns to reform laws and practices that impede womens full participation in their communities and societies. WLPs programs and training materials, published in more than twenty languages, reach thousands of women in over 60 countries, empowering them to advocate for their rights, and strengthening local organizations to advance womens movements across the globe.

Job Description:

Womens Learning Partnership is seeking a Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in non-profit accounting and bookkeeping; experience with international accounting and grant management preferred. As our bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, tracking expenses, processing payments, and preparing financial reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain financial records using QuickBooks Online accounting software.
  • Ensure accurate recording and tracking of all expenses, invoices, and payments.
  • Reconcile accounts and prepare bank deposits.
  • Process payroll and maintain accurate employee records.
  • Generate financial reports monthly and analyze data to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Assist in budget preparation and monitoring.
  • Liaise with management, staff, auditors, and vendors.
  • Handle grants management tasks;
  • Monitor all federal and 501(c)(3) related filings;
  • Manage health insurance, HSA, workers compensation, and business insurance renewals and reporting requirements;
  • Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements related to financial management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Proven experience with account reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, financial accounting, tax preparation, and payroll processing
  • Bookkeeping certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software and MS Excel is a must.
  • Previous experience as a full charge bookkeeper.
  • Experience preparing financial statements.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work to a strict deadline.
  • Ability to work in the office and independently.
  • Knowledge of international and womens rights is a plus
