Qualifications

Skills

  • This internship is located within the Office of the Chief of Staff in the United Nations Mission in Kosovo.
  • The incumbent will report directly to the Mission Planning Officer within the Office of the Chief of Staff.
  • The objective of this internship is to contribute directly to discharging the responsibilities of the Office of the Chief of Staff among which include 1.
  • Effective functioning of mission-wide integrated procedures and systems for information analysis and management. 2.
  • Enhance mission strategic and operational planning.
  • More specifically, the intern will contribute towards the Missions performance monitoring, specifically in relation to operational impact assessments.
  • The estimated start date of the proposed internship is Tuesday 7 April 2026 for an initial period of 3 months with the possibility of renewal for a further 3 months.
  • Develop an understanding/some knowledge of how the UN plans and monitors the implementation of its mandate. 2.
  • Develop an understanding of information/data management systems in a United Nations peacekeeping operation.
  • Duties include: Contribution towards the preparations for the Missions annual informal consultations with member states and assist with follow-up to questions received 1.
  • Assist with compiling and presentation of data and inputs for potential Q&A from Member States on the Missions budget proposal for 2026-2027. 2.
  • Assist with the collection of data and input for addressing follow-up questions.
