Qualifications

  • Academic Qualifications: An advanced university degree (Masters degree or equivalent) in law, criminology or related disciplines is required.
  • Academic Qualifications: A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree..
  • Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.

  • A minimum of five years of relevant, progressively responsible professional experience at the national and international levels in the fields of criminal intelligence, law enforcement, and criminal justice system reform is required.
  • Experience: Work experience in delivering and managing capacity-building programmes on trafficking in persons (TIP) and smuggling of migrants (SOM) for criminal justice and law enforcement practitioners is required.
  • Experience: Work experience providing advisory support on legislation, investigative techniques , intelligence processes, law enforcement and prosecutorial strategies related to TIP/SOM is required.
  • Experience: Work experience in fostering and facilitating cooperation between law enforcement, prosecutorial or judicial authorities including through joint training and inter-agency coordination efforts is required.

  • Work experience in developing and delivering technical trainings in criminal intelligence analysis methodologies (such as ANACAPA), financial crime investigations, strategic and operational analysis, or use of specialized software (e.g., i2 Analysts Notebook, Sentinel Visualizer) is desirable.
