Job Summary

This Programme Management Officer position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and coordinate critical programmes within Global Compact Office’s international cooperation and sustainable development portfolio. Based in United States, you will oversee programme implementation, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure the delivery of high-quality results that advance the organization’s strategic objectives. You will be responsible for programme planning, monitoring and evaluation, resource mobilization, and coordination with government partners, civil society, and other UN agencies. This role is ideal for experienced professionals with strong leadership skills, programme management expertise, and a commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection.

Qualifications

  • Advanced university degree (Masters degree or equivalent degree) in business administration, management, economics or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

  • A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or related area is required. Experience collaborating with the private sector leaders on a wide range of issues is required. A minimum of two years of experience working in the United Nations or a similar large organization on responsible business/corporate sustainability is required. Experience in preparing executive documents, briefs, papers, and summaries on a wide range of topics related to responsible business practices sustainable development is desirable. Experience managing medium-sized projects and project teams is desirable. Experience collaborating with the private sector to promote corporate sustainability is desirable.
