Job Summary
This Programme Management Officer position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and coordinate critical programmes within United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat)’s sustainable urban development, housing rights, and urban planning portfolio. Based in Kenya, you will oversee programme implementation, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure the delivery of high-quality results that advance the organization’s strategic objectives. You will be responsible for programme planning, monitoring and evaluation, resource mobilization, and coordination with government partners, civil society, and other UN agencies. This role is ideal for experienced professionals with strong leadership skills, programme management expertise, and a commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection.

Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (Masters degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics, environment studies, sustainable development or a related field is required. A first-level degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in the specified fields of studies with two (2) additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.

- A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in programme or project management related to smart cities or innovation or related area is required. Experience of planning and/or implementing smart city, innovation and digital transformation strategies and conducting smart cities and digital transformation readiness assessment is required. At least two (2) years of working experience within the United Nations system or a similar international organization is required. One (1 ) year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable
