About the Role
As the Development Operations Coordinator at the Childrens Learning Centers of Fairfield, County, youll play a vital behind-the-scenes role in helping us grow our impact and better serve children and families in our community. This role is ideal for someone who loves creating order from chaos, enjoys working with systems and data, and is energized by being part of a mission-driven team.
You will support fundraising, communications, and events by keeping donor data clean and accurate, coordinating communications, and helping the team stay on track with key initiatives. Youll work closely with the Foundation and Corporate Engagement Director, Donor Engagement Director and Marketing and Communications Manager, but your day-to-day priorities will be managed by the Chief Development Officer to ensure clarity and focus.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Database Management
- Accurately process donations and generate timely thank-you letters and acknowledgments; work with relationship managers to ensure proper signatures and notes are included, consistent with the stewardship plan
- Manage the major donor pipeline in Salesforce and prompting relationship managers about next steps
- Maintain and manage donor data in Salesforce, including list segmentation, pulling reports, and database upkeep
- Make recommendations on data architecture to best support evaluation and tracking
- Track and manage the foundation grants pipeline, including deadlines, deliverables, and reporting schedules
Communications and Events Support
- Manage and format email communications in Mailchimp and keep email lists up to date
- Schedule and coordinate social media content across platforms in alignment with communications goals
- Provide logistical and administrative support for fundraising and donor events (e.g., guest lists, RSVPs, materials, follow-ups)
- Attend and support events (some evenings/weekends may be required)
Board and CEO Support
- Maintain up to date board membership materials
- Provide logistical and project management support for board meetings
- Support CEO with occasional administrative tasks
About You

You need to have:
- 23 years of experience in a nonprofit, education, or mission-driven setting, ideally in development, fundraising, communications, or administrative support
- A strong working knowledge of CRM systems for donor management; Salesforce experience preferred
- Familiarity with non-profit fundraising best practices and how these are supported by strong back-end operations
- Some experience with event planning or logistics coordination, even if it’s small-scale (e.g., school events, fundraisers, volunteer coordination)
