SUMMARY

The Academy at Glengary, Inc., is seeking a compassionate and motivated candidate to serve as our firstFamily Care Coordinator.This new position will be responsible for cultivating supportive relationships with the families of Academy members at our Sarasota and Bradenton campuses. The Family Care Coordinator will serve as a beneficial resource between grandparents, parents, siblings or adult children, and our Academy members (adults living with mental illnesses). We are seeking a high-energy candidate who thrives on teamwork and service to others.

EMPLOYMENT OVERVIEW

The Family Care Coordinator will work on-site, alternating between both Academy locations, to provide direct services that support the psychosocial rehabilitation process, with a Monday-Friday, 9am 5pm work schedule. Prior experience working with persons with mental illness or other disabilities is preferred, although not required.

The Family Care Coordinator role is a full-time position whose primary duties include:

    • Manage applicant intake and enrollment
    • Establish and cultivate supportive relationships with Academy families during the enrollment and rehabilitation process.
    • Assist families with linkage to community-based services, as needed.
    • Implement and monitor development of Blueprint of Self-Support (BOSS) plans, developed in partnership between Academy member and his/her family.
    • Role model professional workplace behaviors, attitudes and relationships.
    • Assume additional responsibilities, as assigned.

The Academy at Glengary and Academy at Bradenton provide a pathway to success, friendship, and careers for adults seeking mental health wellness. Membership at the Academy provides access to both Sarasota and Bradenton facilities, and features a range of self-directed opportunities based on the 8 Dimensions of Wellness (intellectual, physical, financial, social, emotional, vocational, environmental, and spiritual).

OVERVIEW OF REQUIREMENTS

    • Experience: Minimum of five years of professional experience in human services, counseling or a related field.
    • Education requirements: Bachelors degree in Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, or a related field.
    • Language: bilingual English-Spanish a plus
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Adaptability
    • Be a non-smoker both on and off site
    • Willingness to submit to alcohol and drug screen upon hiring, and random drug testing while employed
    • Subject to State of Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and local law enforcement checks
    • Possess a valid Florida Driver’s License, subject to a DMV records check and approval by Academy at Glengary, Inc., insurance carrier
    • Possess a privately owned vehicle and be willing to transport Academy member(s).

Starting salary range is $50 – 57,000/year
