Choices4Teens Mentoring Group is a community based after school mentoring group that empowers youth to expand and manage life choices toward achieving individual potential. We provide a reality-based curriculum for middle school students ages 11-15 to address various topics and issues related to drugs, gangs, and violence prevention. We have joined forces with Mass Mentoring Partnership to provide a quality based, culturally responsive, safe, and positive group with caring adults from Law Enforcement and Mental Health fields.
As the Program Coordinator, your mission is to support our team of mentors, youth, and staff with enrollment and providing a quality 10-week program 2 to 3 times per year. You will be a key asset in ensuring an engaging and rewarding program. The program coordinator is also responsible for maintaining satisfactory progress reports that accurately reflect the status of the program, as well as implementing necessary changes to ensure the success of the program.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Act as a liaison between organizations, i.e., Brockton Public Schools, colleges, Mass Mentoring Partnership, and parents.
- Provide support to mentors and mentees to promote an enriching environment and experience.
- Plan and organize weekly multidisciplinary team meetings and communicate with the president concerning site issues.
- Promote and plan events, ensuring all potential participants are aware of event details.
- Organize and participate in training sessions along with the Director and President.
- Establish a reliable database for parents, sponsors, stakeholders, and partners in the form of emails, flyers, and/or newsletters.
- Research effective tools to implement into the program to achieve desired outcomes.
- Support effective communication and contribute to building strong team culture.
- Motivate and influence youth through unique challenges and opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Social Work, Human Services, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong leadership, active listening, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Google Workspace skills(Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Gmail, Calendar) are a must.
- Commitment to understanding how systemic inequality impacts youth well-being.
- Must successfully complete a CORI background check.
- Knowledge of Spanish or Cape Verdean Creole is a plus.
- Must have reliable transportation.
