Majuro Cooperative School seeks an Elementary Vice-Principal. We are a small, private, secular PreK – 12th grade school in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The Board of Directors is considering moving to a one principal with a vice-principal model. There is one principal for the whole school and then two vice-pincipals; one for prek2-5 (elementary) and one for grades 6-12 (middle/high).

Candidates for vice-principal should possess the following:

  • a US teaching/school administration license preferred
  • a desire to maintain Co-op’s status as the top school in Majuro.
  • experience with curriculum development and instructional coaching.
  • familiarity and experience implementing the US Common Core State Standards and NGSS
  • a desire to work as a leader, while supervising local teacher assistants as well as elementary teachers.
  • a desire to work as part of a leadership team with principal and middle/high vice-principal.
  • effective problem solving skills
  • experience working/living in a developing country.
  • experience managing budgets
  • experience managing building maintenance
  • experience with Restorative Justice and Social Emotional Learning.
  • cultural sensitivity and an adventurous attitude.
  • experience maintaining and creating relationships with various community, volunteer and government agencies.

Candidates with experience multi-tasking, effective problem-solving skills and an adventurous attitude excel in the Marshall Islands.
