Position Description:Reporting to the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, the Finance Associate plays a key role in ensuring the integrity of the organizations financial operations. The Finance Associate assists in day-to-day management of financial activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This person is an organized, flexible professional who can balance a variety of tasks with excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Accounts Payable & Receivable:Process vendor invoices, track incoming revenue such as program fees and donations. Prepare cash receipt (credit cards, other) journals for the general ledger (GL).
    • Grants, Funder Compliance and State Registrations:Track restricted funding, assist in developing grant budgets, and prepare financial reports for donors to ensure compliance with specific grant requirements. Prepare data for state charity registrations.
    • Financial Reporting & Analysis:Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial summaries, including variance analysis (actual vs. budget) for senior leadership, Board and committee meetings.
    • Audit & Tax Preparation:Assist with annual audit activities, maintain digital record systems for accessibility, and assist in preparing IRS Form 990.
    • General Ledger & Reconciliations:Perform monthly journal entries to ensure the integrity of the accounting system.
    • Budgeting Support:Assist the CFAO in the annual budget development process and monitor department spending.
    • Other Duties: As assigned.

Qualifications:

    • Commitment to making a professional contribution to nonprofit organization.
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
    • 2 years of applicable work experience preferred; exposure to nonprofit organizations a plus.
    • Strong ability and skills to work with technology tools – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience in Salesforce or similar platforms a plus.
    • Excellent analytic, organizational and time management skills, including the ability to handle and prioritize numerous projects.
    • Effective verbal and excellent written communication skills.
    • High attention to detail.
    • Flexible, energetic, dependable; team player.

Compensation and benefits: Full time exempt position salary range $50,000 – $55,000 annually. Attractive
