MA Evening Program Assistant

Job Description Overview:

The MA Professional Development Team works to engage and support our community of teachers in various ways, developing the high-quality workshops and events that define our professional community and engaging our teachers in ongoing professional growth.

The team seeks one MA Evening Program Assistant to work part-time for up to 15 hours per week during the school year with the MA PD team to ensure the smooth operation of all evening programs and special events in our New York City office.

Work Hours:

  • Tuesday Thursday, 3 8 p.m. during the school year. Some summer hours are available.Hours may vary from week to week.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Classroom setup
  • Audiovisual and technology checks and support
  • Course material preparation
  • Taking inventory of materials and overseeing their organization
  • Setting up, maintaining, and restocking food and beverage
  • Lending library maintenance
  • Communicating with outside experts who lead courses here
  • Greeting and getting to know teachers
  • General clean up after events and nightly programming.
  • Clerical work
  • Ad hoc projects, as needed

Reporting to the Evening Program Manager, MA Evening Assistants must be flexible to accommodate the logistical challenges of program operation. Additional responsibilities may include cataloging library books, data entry, and working as a host at the front desk.

Compensation:

$20.00/hour, depending on prior experience; approximately 15 hours per week.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Technologically adept
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
