The National Institute for the Psychotherapies (NIP), located in the Flatiron District, is a not-for-profit psychoanalytic training institute, as well as a provider of affordable psychotherapy services for the community.

NIP is seeking to hire a full-time Academic Manager who will be responsible for running the academic operations of NIPs training institute, maintain academic records, and assist in managing events.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing academic administration and oversight for 13 postgraduate training programs
  • Working closely with program directors to manage faculty, course materials, evaluations, rosters, and program calendars
  • Serving as a liaison for program directors, instructors, and students, and collaborating with these groups to facilitate and improve programs and services, while providing excellent service to students, advisers, faculty, staff, and others
  • Managing the admissions process, incoming applications, interviews, credential verification, and scheduling for all programs
  • Ensuring the maintenance, integrity, accuracy, and security of all academic records and transcripts
  • Performing other tasks as requested

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in communications, education, business administration, or related field, with 5+ years of academic management and/or business communications experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment, including consistency and success in adhering to deadlines
  • Effective communications skills, including solid writing, editing, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Team player with the ability to effectively communicate and work cooperatively with staff, volunteers, community members, and candidates
  • Very strong computer skills, including MS Word and Excel, familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, and database management (familiarity with FileMaker a plus)
