Operations Associate

Blueprint Biosecurity is seeking full-time Operations Associates to be a driving force behind our day-to-day execution. This is a role for a true operations generalistsomeone who takes pride in making workflow smoothly and building systems that enable impactful work across teams. Youll bring structure, momentum, and follow-through to everything you touch, spotting what needs to be done, jumping in without hesitation, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. This role will grow as we do. We’re looking for candidates excited to expand their scope as our operations function scales this year.

Key Responsibilities

The core responsibilities of the role will include:

• Day-to-day support:Own the myriad of ad-hoc admin and quality assurance tasks as they arise; spot and fix small issues before they become big ones.
• Documentation:Write and maintain quick start guides and SOPs to keep our internal knowledge base current and easy to navigate.
• Knowledge management:Keep our internal knowledge base clean and easy to navigate, write and maintain quick start guides and SOPs, and ensure nothing gets lost or outdated.
• Systems upkeep and troubleshooting:Handle basic technology troubleshooting, access management, and data cleaning across Coda, Google Workspace, Asana, and other tools.
• Inbox management:Serve as the first line of defense for our administrative inboxes, ensuring our responses are sent on time and questions are answered.
• Other duties and projects as needed:Jump in where needed to support and accelerate the teams work.

While we dont expect any one person to have experience or expertise in all of the following areas, we’re particularly looking to build out team capacity in the following areas:

• Organizational compliance:Support day-to-day execution of our compliance calendar, coordinating with the Grants and Compliance team to keep deadlines clear, tracked, and met.
• Finance support:Proactively support team members on expense reports, timesheets, and other routine submissions to keep records current and accurate.
• Internal data and metrics tracking:Build and implement data tracking systems for external reporting.
• AI and workflow automation:Experiment with AI tools and lightweight automations to reduce repetitive work and improve efficiency.
• Biosecurity context:Demonstrate an interest in, or foundational knowledge of, biosecurity, with an eye toward eventually supporting programmatic operations and research-adjacent work as the role evolves.

Required:

• Demonstrated experience owning and executing operationally complex work, including managing details, deadlines, and follow-through in a professional environment.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work independently.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with everyday tools such as Coda, Google Workspace, Slack, Asana, and other platforms, or the ability to learn them fast.
• Interest and experience using and/or implementing AI tools.

Preferred:

• Experience thriving in scaling organizations, with comfort building processes from scratch and figuring things out as you go.
• Experience collaborating within a remote team environment.
• Experience in basic finance functions, organizational compliance, or data tracking.
• Track record of documenting processes concisely and holding people accountable to organizational standards.

Success in this role will require comfort with ambiguity, a bias toward action, and finding real satisfaction in the routine, unglamorous very essential work that keeps an organization moving. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys a broad scope, a high degree of ownership, and taking responsibility for identifying what needs to be done and seeing it through. If youre most comfortable working in environments where processes are fully built, priorities change infrequently, or ownership is shared across many layers, you may find this role harder to thrive in.

What We Offer

Compensation:The base salary for this position ranges from $78k to $100k USD. We consider a variety of factors when formulating an offer, including but not limited to, the role and responsibilities, work experience, education/training, skills, expertise, and internal equity.
