We are seeking a compassionate, organized, studentcentered Program Manager to join our small and dedicated team. This role is ideal for someone who is energized by building relationships, supporting families, and working collaboratively to create opportunities for young people.
The Program Manager serves as a direct resource and advocate for Star Kids students and families while coordinating the daily operations of our educational support programs. This position reports to the Executive Director and works closely with schools, tutors, community partners, and our board members.
Core Responsibilities
Student & Family Engagement

- Build supportive, trusting relationships with families, students, and partner schools.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for student support needs.
- Conduct regular school visits to check in on students and collaborate with teachers and administrators.
- Participate in parent/teacher meetings and advocate for student success.
- Review report cards, progress updates, and assessments.
- Guide middle and high school students through the highschool and college application process, in partnership with our Pathway Bound contractor.
- Be a part of our 45 student and family events per year to help build a sense of community.
Program Coordination

- Oversee tutoring support and communication with tutors.
- Serve as the main contact for admissions and prospective families seeking to join the program.
- Review student surveys for afterschool activities, summer programs, and alumni outcomes.
- Assist with content for the Annual Report and Annual Appeal.
- Prepare quarterly program updates for board meetings.
Data & Administrative Support

- Maintain accurate student records within the eTapestry database.
- Prepare annual outcomes measurements using student data.
Review the quarterly program budget with the Executive Director.
Qualifications
-
- Bachelors degree
- 24 years of experience in education, youth development, social services, or a related field
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect meaningfully with diverse families
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred

- Experience in teaching, school admissions, guidance counseling, or social services
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and/or database systems (eTapestry a plus)
- Experience in a small nonprofit environment
- A passion for educational equity and communitycentered work
