Worldmaker is seeking aDevelopment Managerto support fundraising growth, donor stewardship, and grant development. This role is ideal for a motivated, relationship-oriented professional who enjoys both strategy and execution.
Working closely with senior leadership, the manager will help expand philanthropic support, strengthen donor relationships, and advance Worldmakers mission through effective fundraising and development operations, with an emphasis on major donor development and family foundation. This is a remote, part-time contract position (30 hours/week) with flexible scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Donor Development (60%)
- Support implementation of Worldmakers annual fundraising plan.
- Build and manage a portfolio of mid- to major-level donors, ensuring engagement, timely updates, and stewardship management.
- Draft donor outreach materials, impact updates, thank-you letters, and campaign communications.
- Assist in planning and executing fundraising initiatives (e.g., program-focused campaigns, year-end appeals).
Collaboration & Organizational Support (20%)
- Work closely with senior leadership to ensure development activities align with organizational priorities.
- Support marketing and communications efforts related to donor engagement and fundraising.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic planning and cross-functional coordination.
Data & Systems Management (20%)
- Maintain accurate donor and grant records in the CRM.
- Produce regular reports on fundraising progress, pipeline development, and stewardship activity.
- Ensure data integrity and support continuous improvement of development processes.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, grant writing, or related field.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with experience preparing donor communications and grant proposals.
- Proficiency using technology and CRM experience managing donor or grant data.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, proactively, and with sound judgment.
- Commitment to Worldmakers mission of building resilient individuals and communities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with trauma-informed organizations, military/veteran communities, and/or first responder networks.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and foundation grant processes.
- Experience supporting fundraising campaigns or events.
- Basic understanding of nonprofit financial structures (budgets, restricted funds, reporting).
Compensation & Contract Structure
- Part-time contract: 30 hours/week. Remote role with flexible schedule.
- Compensation: $4,000/month base, with the opportunity to earn additional performance-based bonuses tied to mutually agreed-upon metrics.
- Occasional travel for team or donor convenings, expenses approved in advance.
- The contractor is responsible for their own equipment, taxes, and benefits.
