Everytown for Gun Safetys Creative team is seeking a talented mid-level graphic designer with the drive to create inspiring work that resonates with and motivates a diverse audience. The Creative team collaborates closely with every department and program under the Everytown, Moms Demand Action, and Students Demand Action brands, using design to unify our message of ending gun violence. The graphic designer’s role is to create visually dynamic and compelling graphic assets for social media, video, email, web, print, merch, and more. The right candidate will be thoughtful, organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about using design to help power a movement comprising a vast range of participantsfrom grassroots volunteers to legislators.

Responsibilities

  • Translate complex ideas into visual concepts using a range of tools: Some of the work the designer will do includes advertisements, billboards, brochures, social media graphics, email graphics, merch design, event design, photo research and editing, photoshoots, video graphics, animation, and data visualization
  • Think strategically about, and contribute to building on our expansive and ever-evolving brand systems
  • Be comfortable spearheading and managing projects from start to finish, and meeting deadlines
  • Be collaborative and solutions-oriented; have a curious approach to solving problems and trying new ideas
  • Be comfortable working in a fast-paced campaign atmosphere; be able to prioritize projects and tasks on a daily (sometimes hourly) basis
  • Be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Be a champion of visual communication tools and opportunities
  • Be mindful of and integrate accessibility and equity in your work learn new tools, gather insights, and share with the team
  • Be a team player and be comfortable giving and receiving feedback

Qualifications

  • BA, BFA, MFA, or equivalent agency or in-house design experience
  • 3+ years of design experience
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Google Suite, Dropbox, Canva, and Asana
  • Exceptional skill in the formal aspects of design
  • A portfolio that demonstrates mastery of type, color, composition, and visual systems
  • Believes in the mission of ending gun violence and sees design as an instrument for social and political change

The annual salary range for this position is $71,000-$75,000 per year, depending on experience. The position reports into NYC office and adheres to a hybrid work schedule. Everytown offers a generous benefits package including medical, dental, and vision (covered by Everytown with a nominal contribution from the employee), PTO, 401(k) match, education assistance, and more.
