Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Associate Director of the Office of Faculty Development and Instructional Technology, the Instructional Design Assistant/College Assistant will support the Office in the development, revision and maintenance of online courses. The Instructional Design Assistant/College Assistant will:
- Assist with the building and revision of accessible courses in the Brightspace learning environment using content provided by the academic program
- Assist with the quality assurance review of courses in Brightspace using a standardized checklist and procedure
- Assist with ensuring online content complies with accessibility standards using checklists and workflows
- Assist with providing faculty support on instructional technology platforms such as Brightspace
- Assist with planning and facilitating training and other faculty development events
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Minimum Qualification:
- High school diploma/GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with the LMS Brightspace
- High level of comfort with technology and ability to upskill rapidly
- Attention to detail and accuracy and strong organizational skills
- Proficiency with MS Office or other productivity suites
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with accessibility and Universal Design for Learning for online courses preferred
- Experience with providing user training and support preferred
- Instructional design experience desirable
