Program Details1-year term running from April 6, 2026 August 2, 2026. Members are expected to serve 35-40 hours per week.

End-of-Service Benefit –At the successful completion of their service term, VISTAs receive either an education award ($17,395) or an end-of-service stipend ($1,800).

Living Allowance –A bi-weekly payment that each VISTA receives via direct deposit during their service term. The VISTA living allowance is set at the poverty level of your organizations county, not where the member lives. This is determined by AmeriCorps, and it is not negotiable.

Our VISTAs living allowance is $30,116.15

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Womens Sports Foundation Impact VISTA is a vital member of the Womens Sports Foundations Community Impact Team in conjunction with Marketing and Partnerships. This individual will be responsible for promoting and advancing the Foundations mission, which is deeply rooted in supporting and empowering women in sports. The VISTA will play a crucial role in enhancing the capacity and effectiveness of our Community Impact department. They will support key initiatives in event planning, community engagement, mentorship, program development, expanding community outreach, and supporting grant programs.

OVERVIEW OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with organizing and executing the Annual Salute to Women in Sports event for the Community Impact

team.

  • Assist in identifying athletes, extending invitations, and managing the RSVP process for the Annual Salute.
  • Work across departments to assist in booking and tracking cost-effective travel arrangements for athletes and manage the travel schedule spreadsheet.
  • Lead the setup and logistics of the Athlete Lounge, including decor, promotional materials, partner activations, and information dissemination during the week of Salute.
  • Liaise with the MarComs teams to manage the athletes’ red-carpet schedule.

Serve as the primary point of contact for general inquiries related to Community Impact.

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for all general inquiries submitted through the Contact Us form for the Community Impact team.
  • Maintain an updated knowledge of the organization’s programs and services.
  • Provide accurate and helpful responses within five business days for general inquiries.
  • Elevate key opportunities and questions to the Community Impact Team.
  • Record interactions and forward relevant information and documents to interested parties.

Aid the Community Impact Team in coordinating the NBC Student Mentorship Program.

  • Efficiently review and track student applications.
  • Assist in identifying and arranging key guest speakers.
  • Work with the Community Impact team to develop activities that promote student engagement.
  • Research best practices and suggest enhancements to improve the program.

Thoroughly review and evaluate grant applications, maintain a precise database, and identify potential future

grant opportunities.

  • Ensure files have the most current and accurate information on individuals and organizations.
  • Conduct detailed research and draft profiles for future cultivation.
  • Keep records updated to reflect ongoing research, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
  • Research organizations to find those aligned with WSF’s mission for potential grant opportunities.

Assist in enhancing community engagement and outreach efforts for the Athlete Ambassador Program

  • Identify and connect with new communities and organizations to broaden outreach and promote the Athlete Ambassador Program.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of Athlete Ambassador Program events.
  • Collaborate with Community Impact and MarComs teams to develop promotional materials and social media content, share success stories, and highlight the Athlete Ambassador Program.
  • Collect feedback from Athlete Ambassador Program participants to gain insight into their experiences and identify areas for improvement.

Collaborate with the Marketing & Partnerships department to:

  • Maintain the WSF online store by researching new products, tracking inventory, and mailing orders.
  • Track and archive digital and social content related to WSF partner campaigns, including WSF posts, athlete posts, and partner posts.
  • Stay abreast of sports/marketing industry publications and platforms to expand the WSF Corporate and National Partner prospect list.
  • Research companies, create briefing documents, and present findings and recommendations to the WSF team on partnership opportunities.
  • Facilitate communication to the Foundations supporters and partners by assisting with the development of the Partner Quarterly Newsletter
