Result of Service
The Individual Contractor will assist the Contract management unit in carrying out several contract management related activities in line with the Procurement Manual, Rules and Regulations, Procurement Practitioners handbook in the best interest of the Organization.

Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Senior Contract Management Assistant and the overall direction of the Chief of Section, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties: A. Contract Administration & Oversight
- Support the management of service, supply, and equipment maintenance contracts, ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Monitor contract performance, including deliverables, timelines, invoices, and adherence to obligations.
- Conduct periodic checks on contractors performance for contracts involving maintenance/repair of UN owned equipment and assets.
- Document and track contract violations; follow up on corrective actions and risk mitigation. B. Procurement & Technical Support
- Assist in drafting Statements of Work (SOWs), Requirements, Source Selection Plans, evaluation matrices, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Analyze procurement requests, advise requisitioners, and ensure data accuracy from award to contract termination.
- Support post award administration including amendments, extensions, and contract close out processes. C. Compliance, Quality Assurance & Issue Resolution
- Ensure contractors compliance with the contracts and coordinate with Procurement, Legal, and other units on claims, disputes, warranties, and contractual remedies.
- Respond to audit observations and support implementation of Standard Operating Procedures and administrative instructions.
- Review invoices and verify payments against contract terms, including addressing non payment, overpayment, and underpayment issues. D. Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain organized contract files and monitor contract lifecycles, renewals, and documentation.
- Provide analytical support through dashboards, charts, and reports for planning and decision making.
- Consolidate procurement data and prepare updates for management. E. Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain positive relationships with contractors and stakeholders involved in contract delivery.
- Liaise with internal units, suppliers, and clients to ensure cohesive contract management processes. 3. Competencies Professionalism
- Knowledge of procurement and contract management principles, supply chain processes, and UN administrative procedures. Planning & Organizing

Qualifications/special skills
High School Diploma is required. CIPL Level 4 Diploma, MA degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, masters degree in business administration/ finance and accounting are assets. Additional training in the area of data science is an advantage. At least ten years of progressively responsible experience in the field of contract management, procurement/ business administration/accounting or IT is required. UUse of contract and procurement-related software and database management is desirable. Experience with data management, monitoring, and UN contract and procurement systems is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Excellent English writing ability is a must. Knowledge of French or another official United Nations language is an advantage.
