Salary:$72,000 to $79,000 USD gross annually

Key Outcomes:

In the first 90 days, the role will:

  • Learn and live the Americares values.
  • Complete all required new hire onboarding trainings.

and the role will demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of Americares website content organization and content management lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in WordPress, creating/editing copy content.
  • A high-level understanding of Americares website audiences (i.e. donors, program partners, etc.) and drivers for engagement and donations.
  • A high-level of understanding of internal stakeholders responsibilities and web content support needs.
  • Competencies in driving Search visibility.
  • Understanding of Americares brand tone and voice and ability to write web copy in alignment with brand.

In the first 6 months, the role will demonstrate:

  • Ownership in website content management, ensuring web content is current and relevant, on-brand and approved by impacted internal stakeholders.
  • Independent thought leadership for the optimization of web site content in support of organizational fundraising and brand building goals and develop initial content governance plan.
  • Expertise in optimizing copy content to drive more organic Search traffic.
  • Successful collaboration with Marcoms, Direct Response, and Social teams on editorial calendar and communications alignment across channels.
  • Strong communication skills in interactions with team members and internal stakeholders.

In the first year, the role will:

  • Successfully take on and initiate web content projects that drive brand engagement and donations.
  • Understand the organizations web presence beyond Americares.org, and potential for content coordination.
  • Show success increasing organic search traffic due to applying smart and creative SEO strategies.
  • Leverage full-year fundraising and brand communications lifecycle experience to fine-tune the website content governance plan, socialize it, get buy-in and support in its execution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Write clear, persuasive, and original copy for website pages to meet defined objectives for target audience.
  • Manage execution of website content governance system, ensuring all content is current, accurate and reflects brand.
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, and marketing teams to ensure copy aligns with design and UX best practices.
  • Collaborate with Multi-Media, Social and Direct Response team in sourcing imagery and/or video to complement copy.
  • Conduct keyword research and implement SEO strategies to improve organic search performance.
  • Edit and proofread copy for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Maintain a consistent tone of voice and messaging across all web content.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, SEO best practices, and digital content strategies.
  • Actively model and contribute to Americares values, work culture and mission.
  • Engage in and contribute to team spaces with openness, global competencies, and a growth mindset.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Competencies required for the role:

  • Demonstrated experience writing for websites, marketing campaigns, or digital platforms (with at least some of that experience coming from global non-profit organizations).
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and UX writing.
  • Excellent grammar, attention to detail, and storytelling skills.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms, especially WordPress.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of best practices for website copywriting to optimize AI generated search results.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Fluency in languages that are spoken in at least one of our core locations (India, Philippines, Tanzania, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, Colombia, etc.), in addition to English.
  • Prior experience in a humanitarian and/or global health development organization.
