About the Position The Research Associate II (Pre-clinical) supports laboratory research experiments and collects, enters, analyzes and maintains scientific research study data under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or their designee. The experimental work may include cell culture, biological assays, qCPR, microscopy or 3D printing. The position focuses entirely on cellular, chemical, and materials-based laboratory research. The Research Associate II (Pre-clinical) is expected to perform experimental procedures autonomously or with minimal supervision. This position is 100% onsite at the Uniformed Services University (USU) Center for Biotechnology (4DBio3) in Rockville, MD; as such, applicants must be within a commutable distance to the Rockville Metro area. A thorough government background check will be administered. About The Program The mission of 4DBio3 is to promote the development and application of advanced biotechnologies within the Department of Defense to enhance the readiness, health, and well-being of Americas Warfighters, veterans, and families. Salary Range $55,000 – $65,000. Salaries and hourly pay rates are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidates related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position. Qualifications Masters degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., biology, chemistry, biomedical engineering) required 46 years’ experience in laboratory research Ability to exercise independent judgment in fast-paced research environments with strict deadlines Ability to multi-task Demonstrated competence in oral and written communication Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess a positive and professional demeanor Must possess eligibility to work in the U.S. Visa sponsorship not provided.
